Module 2

How the Bible Is Put Together

What this module is about

In this module, we gently learn:

  • How the Bible is organised

  • What the Old and New Testaments are

  • Why the Bible doesn’t need to be read all at once

There is no pressure to remember everything.
This is just about becoming familiar.

Lesson 1

Is the Bible One Book or Many?

The Bible looks like one book,
but it is actually many books collected together.

Each book has:

  • Its own name

  • Its own purpose

  • Its own way of teaching

That is why the Bible can feel different from page to page —
and that is okay.

Lesson 2

What Are the Old and New Testaments?

The Bible is divided into two main parts.

The Old Testament

This part tells us about:

  • The beginning of the world

  • God’s people

  • God’s promises

The New Testament

This part tells us about:

  • Jesus

  • Love, grace, and forgiveness

  • How God’s promises are fulfilled

Both parts belong together.
One does not replace the other.

Lesson 3

Do I Need to Read the Bible in Order?

No.

The Bible is not a book you must read from front to back.

You are allowed to:

  • Start with one verse

  • Read one chapter

  • Stay in one book for a long time

You can open the Bible where it feels gentle and safe.

There is no “right place” to begin —
there is only your place.

Lesson 4

Why Does the Bible Sometimes Feel Hard?

The Bible was written a long time ago,
in a different place,
for people living very different lives.

That is why:

  • Some words feel unfamiliar

  • Some stories feel confusing

  • Some parts need time to understand

This does not mean you are doing anything wrong.

Learning takes time.

Gentle Truth (Module 2)

You are allowed to learn the Bible slowly.
You are allowed to pause.
You are allowed to come back later.

God is not testing you.
God is teaching you gently.
